F.A.Q.
At GVN Performance & Fox Valley Fitness, we’re more than a gym, we’re a community. Whether you’re here to lift on your own, train like an athlete, or somewhere in between, these FAQs will give you a clear idea of what we offer and how to get started.
Where are you located?
We are located on the second floor of Fox Valley Ice Arena. Enter through the main doors and head upstairs, our facility sits directly above the main floor. If you need help finding us, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to guide you.
What does a basic membership include?
A basic membership gives you full access to the gym during all operating hours, including strength equipment, cardio machines, and turf space for functional training. It’s the perfect option if you want a flexible, self-guided workout without the need for coached sessions or specialized programs.
Is there a signup fee?
No. We never charge signup fees or cancellation fees. Joining our gym and community is straightforward — no hidden costs, no long-term commitments, and no surprise charges. You only pay for the membership or training option you choose.
What’s the difference between a membership and athletic performance training?
Membership lets you train on your own schedule using our facilities. Athletic performance training, on the other hand, is built around coached sessions — with certified trainers, structured programming, sport-specific or goal-oriented plans, and performance tracking. It’s for anyone serious about improvement, from recreational fitness to competitive athletes.
How do I start performance training?
Getting started is simple. All new athletes begin with an assessment where we review your goals, evaluate movement and strength, and determine the best training program for your needs. After the assessment, we’ll walk you through scheduling, program options, and how to make the most of your sessions. Shoot us an email at j.bower@gvnperformance.com for more info.
What ages do you train, and what level of athletes do you work with?
We train athletes of all ages and experience levels. Our programs are designed for youth, middle school, high school, collegiate, and adult athletes. Whether you’re just starting your athletic journey, looking to make a team, preparing for college competition, or training to compete at a high level, we tailor each program to meet athletes where they are and help them progress safely and effectively.
Do you offer personalized or sport-specific training plans?
Yes. Our coaches design programs based on your sport, position, fitness level, and personal goals. Whether your focus is speed, strength, power, agility, conditioning, or overall athletic development, we build plans to help you progress safely and effectively.
Do you train athletes during both in-season and off-season?
Yes. We offer performance training year-round. Off-season training focuses on building strength, speed, and power, while in-season training is designed to maintain performance, reduce fatigue, and prevent injury. We adjust intensity and programming based on your sport, schedule, and competition demands to keep you performing at your best.
